Presenter Instructions

Oral and Poster Presentation Guidelines

Congratulations on your acceptance to present at the Congress. Below are the guidelines for oral and poster presenters. It is important that you carefully read and follow these guidelines to ensure that you are prepared for your presentation. Only presenting authors of accepted abstracts who have completed their registration for the Congress (including payment of fees) by 15 August 2015 will retain their places on the Congress scientific program.

A poster is a great means to present your work during the Congress and it will be viewed and visited throughout the event. Other participants will be able to view your work, even if they miss your presentation. You can use your creative talents and present your work in an attractive way that will stimulate discussions and questions about your work and ideas.

The most important aspects should be concisely presented and clearly arranged on the poster. Follow the outline of your abstract and full paper to present the problem you addressed, your methodologies, results and other important information.

Poster Presentation & Viewing

You will be given the opportunity to give a short 2 -3 minute presentation about your poster during the poster presentation sessions. The poster viewing with the authors will be after the presentation sessions. You will be asked to stand by your poster during the viewing session after your presentation session. The exact date and time of your poster session will be communicated to you in October. If you do not wish to give a short presentation about your poster and only have it displayed, please inform the SWC 2015 Secretariat before 30 October.

All posters will be displayed throughout the duration of the Congress for viewing by the participants. Please be sure to hang up your poster when you arrive (Posters may be displayed starting at 8:00 am on Monday, Novemebr 9, 2015. Poster boards will be numbered and assigned) so that the participants have plenty of opportunity for viewing it.

Size and Format

The poster should not exceed the dimensions of DIN A0 page, height 118 cm and width 84 cm (size poster wall: height 200 cm, width 100 cm). Text, tables and illustrations should be arranged on this surface and be clearly legible at a distance of 1.5 to 2 m (about 6 feet).

The minimum font size used for important information like headings should be approximately 6.25 mm high (28 pt), other wording should be at least 4.7 mm (20 pt) font size.

Do not use small print or tables, or complicated illustrations weighed down with information. Use only the absolutely essential text, tables, diagrams and perhaps pictures. You can communicate more by showing less, and the clarity of your poster can be improved by using different colors.
